Improved Glucose Tolerance Linked to Enhanced Hydration Levels

This study aimed to evaluate if hydration status indicates glucose tolerance in a dominant Mexican American population. The participants underwent a glucose tolerance test, and their hydration status was estimated using the ratio of BUN to creatinine values. The results showed that hydration status was positively associated with glucose intolerance, meaning that adequate fluid consumption should be encouraged for glycemic control, especially among people with high diabetes risks.
